Templestay Review of Hwaunsa - Mary and Rosanne (USA)- September, 2015
- My most vivid memory during my Templestay at Hwaunsa was sliding down the mountain! Yes, I was comfortable. There is nothing I would like to change, Everything was great! What a great experience!
- Participating in the early morning prayer and being along both monastics and devotees as they took part in a culture that has been around for thousands of years were my most vivid memories during my Templestay at Hwaunsa. Extremely comfortable. Beautiful temple, beautiful area. No changes necessary. Demetra provided great care and was exceptional throughout our entire stay. She is such a wonderful person I cannot imagine experiencing Buddhist Temple Etiquette 101 without her- she is an amazing guide. Tea with the Abbess was an extraordinary and intimate event and I'll treasure it always.
Templestay Review of Hwaunsa - Tessa (South Africa)- September, 2015
- Being inside the new temple building and tea with Venerable BhikkuniSeonil were my most vivid memories of my Templestay at Hwaunsa. There is nothing I would like to change...just possibly an extended stay next time.
Templestay Review of Hwaunsa- Alison and Kevin (Ireland)- September, 2015
- Tea with the Abess was my most vivid memory during my Templestay at Hwaunsa. Ye, very comfortable. There isn't anything I would like to change. Thank you so much for the lovely afternoon & evening. I learned alot about Korean Buddhism & Korean culture. Making tha lanterns was a lot of fun and tea time was wonderful. I felt very welcome while I was here.
-Making paper lotus lanterns was the most vivid memory during my Templestay at Hwaunsa. I was very comfortable. I cannot think of anything which would benefit from a change. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Seeing a working temple and getting a good insight into the type of lifestyle pursued by the Nuns was very interesting and eye opening. My special thanks to the Abbess for her kindness and welcoming nature and for teaching us how to appreciate tea. :)
