-
To the people of Jikjisa templestay
Hello,We are Jose and Will from Holland, The Netherlands.The templestay we did in the weekend of 27 april 2013 was very interesting. We enjoyed the quieteness and rest, especially in the late hours of Saterday and early morning hours of the Sunday morning.We also enjoyed the open talk and tea with the monk.Thanks a lot, especially to our english translator, mr. Beopsan. He made it possible for us to follow and understand the talk with the monk. He was also very helpfull when we arrived and showed us around while explaining the different issues.This was our second temple stay. Three weeks before we did join a templestay in the Beomeo-sa in Busan. We believe it is a great way for both Koreans and foreigners to get a better idea about the life in a temple. And a better understanding of Buddhisme.Regards,Will & JoseAmsterdam, The NetherlandsPS. We are still hiking the Baeke Daegu trail and are close to the half way marker now.-

It was a very lovely experience.
A great way to escape and to reflect.
Remembering the important things in life that we tend to take for granted.
Sharing this with new people and learning another way of life
and such culture was very inspiring.
Everyone was very kind and helpful which also made it very enjoyable.

* Angie, 30, female, Singapore *
The templestay program is my first planned activity for my trip.
I am really happy to be part of this program.
Though the program was conducted in korean language
but I am still able to comprehend and appreciate the teachings given by the monk.
It really help me to be more appreciative of myself,
to give compliments to myself and others which I have never done so.
Thank you~!

* Betty, 23, female, USA *
I really enjoyed the templestay.
My favorite activities were the 108 prostrations and the practice of the Buddhist meal.
The 108 prostrations was a very personal practice and it had a lot of meaning.
I also enjoyed the community here : they were extremely welcoming and warm.
I really appreciate the translators ! without them I wouldn't have learned as much as I did.
* Kate M, 31, female, Canada *
I was pleased by how much I learned, and how much I will take away and practice in my everyday life.
The morning chants, the 108 bows and the walking meditation were incredibly moving to me and I will take these teachings with me.
* Kate K, 29, female, British *
This was my first templestay and I wasn't sure what to expect.
The whole experience was wonderful.
I enjoyed the explanations of buddhism and the temple and appreciated the opportunity to take part in the buddhist life.
I was originally slightly apprehensive about the 3 am start, but the image of the buddhist statues, glowing candlelight and the chanting of monks will remain with me for a long time.
Thank you for the opportunity to experience this.
It was an amazing experience.
* Daniel, 26, male, Colombia *
It was a very interesting experience that has given me a new view of what Buddhism about.
It was something very difference from the religion in western world.
