1. Arrive on Time
Please try to arrive by 2pm on the appointed day, and no later than 4pm. |
Templestay is usually a 24-hour program. Participants may leave anytime after
the noontime meal offering. |
2. Bring Essentials
Razor, toothbrush, etc., comfortable and seasonal clothes and footwear |
Warm clothing may be essential for pre-dawn programs regardless of season. |
3. Quarters
Separate large rooms for male and female participants, and families should use
these as well. |
In some instances, private quarters may be arranged ahead of time for
individuals and families upon request. |
Lights go out at 9:30, so please refrain from moving around after that. |
4. Clothing
Most temples provide comfortable uniforms for the program, but bring your own
in case there is a shortage. Bring comfortable, season clothes for children since
there are no uniforms for them. |
Refrain from wearing skimpy clothings. |
5. Program
Morning chanting is at 3:30 or 4am, depending on the temple. Since this is the
start of the day, all participants are urged to attend with an open heart. If this is
impossible, kindly consult a program official ahead of time. |
Please take part in all activities as a community. |
