The Tripitaka Koreana Pilgrimage Templestay offers slightly different activities by season .
You can experience various Korean traditional and Buddhist cultural activities,
like learning temple etiquette, performing 108 prostrations, making a prayer beads, and exploring cultural heritage.

What to bring?

1. Bedding and uniform (a vest and pants) wil be provided.
Please, bring a T-Shirt with sleeve to wear under your vest.
2. Bring personal items, such as towel, water bottle, underwear, socks, and toiletries(shampoo, body cleanser, toothpaste).
3. Soap and hair dryer are equipped in each room.
4. Since most temples are located in mountains, it is better to prepare long-sleeve or thicker clothing.
5. Please wear comfortable shoes - sneakers or hiking shoes. (no flip-flops or slippers)

Regulation

1. Check attire. Try to avoid flashy or revealing outfits.
2. In the halls, participants must wear socks.
3. Please, keep the temple rules and keep the noble silence during your stay.
4. Drinking and smoking are prohibited and close intimacy for couples should be refrained.
5. When seeing monks, please greet them by offering a hapgang (put your palms together and take a bow).

Public Transport

You need to come through Seobu Intercity Bus Terminal in Daegu City to come to Haeinsa.
From Seobu Intercity Bus Terminal to Haeinsa Bus Terminal,
it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Then, from Haeinsa Bus Terminal to Templestay Quarter,
it takes about 30 minutes on foot.
If you get off at Seongbo Museum,
which is one stop before Haeinsa Bus Terminal,
it is closer to Haeinsa. (20 minutes on foot)
