Program Information

Healing.Haein Freestyle Templestay

Healing. Haein is open Monday through Friday every week. It is not open on Friday every second and fourth week of each month.

Healing. Haein is a freestyle stay for you to take your own free time without any certain programs. The following is our optional programs if you’d like to register for the additional programs.

1. With Sunim (a monk)
Chahm-Suhn (Meditation) or Talk over a Cup of Tea with a Monk lasts for an hour. It costs 20,000 won for each individual and 10,000 won for each person in a group of more than 10 people. Please let us know in advance if your group would like to join the additional programs.

* Please make sure to contact Haeinsa Templestay Welcome Office in advance if you’d like to talk with a monk alone.

2. Crafting Program

It costs 10,000 won for each person to participate in Printing One of Tripitaka Koreana Wooden Blocks and Making a Korean Traditional Note or Making Prayer Beads during 108 prostrations.

Buddhist ceremonies (Ye-bul)

A day of the temple begins with Yebool. Yebool is a ceremony that we pay respect to the Sakyamuni Buddha, Bodhisattvas and all his diciples. It affords a chance for self-reflection of practice. In the Buddhist chanting, it contains that Buddhists take refuge in the Buddha, Buddha's teachings and Shangha (the community of Buddhist monks and nuns), and wish to be a buddha through practice constantly. While you are listening to Buddhist chanting, you will feel calm and purified mind



What to prepare

※A uniform ( a vest& pants)is provided during the stay.
※What to bring : toiletries, towel, a personal water bottle, loose clothes for sleep, an extra t-shirt, sneakers, and socks. Remember that a sleeveless shirt or flip-flops are not recommended.

From Gangnam

-Take the bus M6427 at Gangnam (or Sinnonhyeon or Nonhyeon or Banpo) station.
-Get off at Gimpo Transit Transfer Centers/Hangaram/Solteo Maeul.
-Transfer to a bus No. 60-2, No. 700 or No. 700-1.
-Get off at Onsu-ri stop with additional 15~20 minute walk.

Dongdaegu train station ~ Seobu Bus Terminal by subway
-Get off at Seobu bus terminal station and then move to Seobu Bus Terminal.

Daegu Seobu Bus Terminal-Haeinsa Temple by bus.

Haeinsa bus stop is the last one.
You can get off at bus stop before Haeinsa Bus Terminal.You need to walk for 25 minutes to get here.
Or you can take a taxi at the last bus stop, which costs 6,000 won.
The trail to get here is so beautiful that I recommend you to walk here.

-Take a bus No. 60-5 at the following stops;
(1) Gae-hwa Check point (near Gae-hwa station, subway line 9)
(2) Gimpo Airport International (Bus stop No. 16-997)
(3) Gimpo Airport Domestic (Bust Stop No. 16-781)
-Get off at Jeondeungsa South Gate or East Gate

From Busan to Haeinsa Temple
Take a bus to Goryung at Seobu Sasang Terminal at 7:05,8:20, 9:25,10:30, 11:40, 12:50, 14:00, 15:10, 16:10, 17:00, 17:50, 18:40,
and then take a bus to Haeinsa Temple at Goryung Bus Terminal in Busan. The buses run every 40 minutes. And then you can walk up to Haeinsa for 20 minutes or take a taxi at the last bus stop which costs6,000won.
