Program Information

Relaxation templestay (without program)

This program is known for having lots of free time on the schedule and for allowing participants to design their own schedules according to what they want to do. Except for meals, you are not compelled to attend any other activity. Thus, please tell us what you would like to do, such as talking with a Sunim or learning how to do meditation. At that time, you will be able to have opportunities to talk or ask about Buddhism, meditation, your trouble or anything you have in your mind. Of course, if you want to just take a rest, no one will disturb you.

Da-Seon(Tea Ceremony)

It is one of the meditations to practice of mindfulness and concentration through brewing and drinking tea. Tea and meditation are the same that is why it is said Da-Seon-il-mil. When you drink tea, your five senses work at the same time. Your eyes see the color, ears hear the sound of water, nose smells the fragrance, the tongue tastes the flavor of the tea and your hands feel the warmth of the cup.

Temple tour

Temple tour is not only visiting the Buddhist temple but experiencing Korean Buddhism and culture. Korean Buddhist temples have been the bedrock on which brilliant Korean culture has been blooming over the past 1700 years since Buddhism was first introduced to Korea. Various Buddhist cultural properties including the structure, architecture, sculpture, art, craft, Buddhist painting and Dancheong (temple paintwork) contain the teachings of the Buddha.


What to prepare

* A uniform ( a vest and pants ) is provided during the stay. * What to bring: toiletries, personal water bottle, loose clothes for sleep, extra t-shirt, sneakers, and socks. Remember that a sleeveless shirt or flip-flops are not recommended.

Way to Temple

Subway

Take the subway line NO 1 and get off at ByeongGeom Station.
After coming out through the rear exit of the station, you should take a bus NO 34, 34-1, 46, or 60 for about 15 minutes.
