Head Temple of Dharma, HaeinsaTemple Founded in 802 C.E., Haeinsa houses all of the Tripitaka Koreana:Buddhist scriptures divided into 81,258 wooden tablets. Built-in the 15th century to store the tablets of the Goryeo Dynasty, the temple has the only depository in the world. In 1995, the depository Janggyeong Panjeon complex was designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage and the scripture collection, a UNESCO World Record Heritage.
